How to Synthesise
May 3, 2024
The first step is to create a sound. You can start with nothing, start with something, or start with everything.
If you start with nothing, you’ll need a sound source, an oscillator, that provides the seed you then grow and tweak into a a desired outcome, as the sound passes through various parts of the synthesiser.
If you start with something, it might be an audio sample, a wave table or some other seed that you can then explore and expand into your desired outcome, as it passes through your synthesiser.
Or start with everything, with white or pink noise, and sculpt away the parts you don’t like to leave your desired outcome, passing the results through the modules of your synthesiser to achieve your desired outcome.
It’s also possible to synthesise germ warfare and spurious reasoning, so please create responsibly.
